Patrick “Packy” Mader is thrilled to be invited to share stories on Twin Cities Public Television’ Almanac show about Olympian and Warroad, Minnesota hockey legend Henry Boucha who passed away recently at age 72.  Packy had an extensive interview with Henry prior to the publication of his first book on Minnesota Olympians, Minnesota Gold, and later shared booths at a pair of hockey tournaments.  Henry also graciously spoke at the book launch along with 10 other Olympians for the 2016 program.  Here is a link to the reposting of the article:  http://www.mnathletes.com

Thank you to TPT and their staff for this opportunity to review Henry’s life and athletic career and also touch on Minnesota’s new–still unnamed–women’s professional hockey league team.  Natalie Darwitz, a three-time Olympian from Eagan will serve as the team’s general manager and Olympians Kelly Pannek from Plymouth and Lee Stecklein of Roseville have already signed contracts with the team.  A draft was held and Taylor Heise of Lake City, a Red Wing High School graduate, was the first player selected by the Minnesota team which won a lottery to determine the first overall choice.
