Date: July 23, 2020
Time: 7:00 am  to  8:30 am

Lakeville Rotary Club

Patrick “Packy” Mader is thrilled to present to the citizen- and sports-minded Lakeville Rotary Club on the topic of Dakota County and Minnesota athletes who have competed in the Olympics, Paralympics, and World Cup and World Championships.  While his two books, Minnesota Gold and More Minnesota Gold, profile athletes in a variety of sports, eras, and geographical regions, the program will concentrate on athletes from the community and county.

Among the remarkable athletes who will be highlighted are Olympians Wiz Bachman, volleyball; cross country skiers Lindsay Williams and Todd Boonstra; track and field athlete Shani Marks; alpine skier Kristina Koznick; and current swimming backstroke world record holder and hopeful 2021 Olympian Regan Smith.  Packy researched, interviewed, and wrote about these athletes for seven years and found them to be approachable, intelligent, articulate, and eager to “give back” to their sport, community, and school.
