Patrick “Packy” Mader is delighted to share his extensive research, interviews, and writings of more than 100 Minnesota Olympians with the patrons of Scott County at the Shakopee Library.  Included in his presentation will be slides and information about 2021 Olympian swimmer Regan Smith of Lakeville and volleyball alternate Sarah Wilhite Parsons of Shakopee.  Other featured athletes will be hockey legends such as Henry Boucha and John Mayasich and participants in the Olympics or World Championships from the nearby communities of Prior Lake, Apple Valley, Chaska, and Burnsville.

One of the highlighted athletes will be a Scott County resident who got her Olympic start at nearby Buck Hill, alpine skier Tasha Nelson.  Other athletes included in the presentation are hockey legends Henry Boucha of Warroad and John Mayasich of Eveleth and two members of the 1980 Miracle on Ice gold medal-winning hockey team.  Many sports, eras, and regions will be represented in the program.  Come and learn about another of our state’s great resources:  its Olympians!
