Patrick “Packy” Mader is delighted to present a program on Minnesota Olympians and the adversity they have overcome at St. John’s Church in Northfield on Monday, October 24th.  These remarkable athletes have compelling personal stories related to Packy about their athletic careers and include hockey players John Mayasich (Eveleth), Henry Boucha (Warroad) and Buzz Schneider (Babbitt); runners Carried Tollefson (Dawson), Ted Nelson (Faribault), and sprinter Mark Lutz (Rochester); 2002 Olympian flag bearer speedskater Amy Peterson (Maplewood); basketball star Lindsay Whalen (Hutchinson); Lakeville Olympians Wiz Bachmann in volleyball and Regan Smith in swimming; and other Dakota County athletes.

There will be a question-and-answer time and book signing following the program.

Ted Nelson of Faribault was the first Minnesota runner to run a sub-4-minute mile;  Lindsay Whalen has been on two gold medal-winning Olympic basketball teams; Henry Boucha was an astounding high school and professional hockey defenseman

Regan Smith of Lakeville won three medals at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo
