A Retired Teacher Speaks to Retired Teachers (about Minnesota Olympians)

Many teachers are surprised to learn how many of their colleagues have participated in the Olympics.  Teachers in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Maplewood, St. Cloud, Bemidji, and Edina have qualified in sports ranging from hockey to kayaking to curling, to running. Pictured below are teacher Van Nelson (Edina, distance running), Liz Parr-Smestad (St. Paul, bobsledding), and Phil Rogosheske (St. Cloud, kayaking)

Patrick Mader, a retired classroom teacher with 35 years of experience, has written two nonfiction, 400-page, full color volumes highlighting Minnesota athletes and their remarkable stories, challenges, and achievements covering a wide range of eras and sports.  It even includes a former governor!

An engaging and entertaining multimedia presentation will feature Minneapolis Olympians and those from the surrounding metropolitan area.  Come discover Minnesota Gold!
