Author Patrick Mader to Highlight Edina Olympians at Our Lady of Grace School Readathon
Patrick “Packy” Mader is excited to share the lives, stories, challenges, and achievements of Minnesota’s Olympians with grades 3-5 at Our Lady of Grace School in Edina. Marathon Olympian Janis Klecker, alpine skier Kaylin Richardson, hockey player John Taft, retired Edina teacher and distance runner Van Nelson, and hockey player and four-time Olympian Jenny Schmidgall Potter will be among the athletes featured.
These remarkable athletes are known for “giving back” to their sport, school, and community. Packy is eager to explain to students that everyone can be an Olympian–it may not be in athletics, but by doing your best and being a good citizen you can be an Olympian in another profession or even an Olympic friend!
