C.O.R.E.S. members are sports fans, and Patrick “Packy” Mader’s books on Minnesota athletes who competed on the international stage conjure fond memories to the coaches, officials, reporters, educators, and sports fans which comprise the group.

A booth to purchase Minnesota Gold or More Minnesota Gold featuring more than 100 inspirational athletes from every part of the state in a variety of eras and sports who have given back to their sport and community will be available.

Among those highlighted will be former governor Wendy Anderson, a member of the 1956 silver medal-winning Olympic hockey team; WNBA star and University of Minnesota women’s basketball coach, Lindsay Whalen; hockey standout John Mayasich of Eveleth, the only player whose jersey has been retired in the storied history of Gophers hockey; alpine and cross country skiers including 2018 gold medalist Jessie Diggins; and three-time Olympian speedskater Gene Sandvig, a regular C.O.R.E.S. attendee.!
